SIGA Reveals PlayNow Set to Launch November 3rd
Last week, the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) revealed that the first and only online gambling and sports betting website called PlayNow.com is scheduled to launch on November 3, 2022. Under an operating agreement with SaskGaming, SIGA will be the official operator of PlayNow in the province. This will effectively offer regulated and legal sports betting and online gambling activities to residents of one of Canada’s two landlocked provinces.

Along with the upcoming launch of the PlayNow platform, SIGA has unveiled a sponsorship deal with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Canada’s professional soccer team based in Regina, Saskatchewan. As a result of the collaboration, PlayNow’s logo was embroidered on the team’s jerseys. According to SIGA, additional promotions and activations for sports fans will soon be introduced via the PlayNow platform.
The upcoming launch is the result of efforts dating back to last year. In September 2021, the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) signed an innovative agreement, the first of its kind, with the Province of Saskatchewan, allowing SIGA to launch PlayNow. Bobby Cameron, Chief of the FSIN, shared his excitement saying the agreement will bring economic benefits to First Nations communities and residents of the province. SIGA has revealed that Saskatchewan residents aged 19 or older can already start pre-registering on the PlayNow platform.
PlayNow Expected Provides Safe and Secure Entertainment
Zane Hansen, CEO and President of SIGA, revealed that there is excitement about being the exclusive provider of online sports betting and gambling in Saskatchewan. He acknowledged that the Authority will provide safe and secure entertainment for sports fans and gamers. Hansen explained that at the same time, SIGA will reinvest the proceeds in the province of Saskatchewan.
“We are thrilled to be the exclusive provider of Saskatchewan’s first and only legal online gambling site, which will provide residents with a safe and secure option to play their favorite casino games and bet on their favorite sports teams online.“

SaskGaming President and CEO Susan Flett added that the upcoming launch of single-event sports betting and online gambling will expand entertainment options for Saskatchewan residents. Last but not least, Flett thought the timing of the launch was perfect, given that the province will host the 109th Gray Cup in November.
