Hacksaw Gaming gets share of West Virginia’s online gaming market

Based in Malta Hacksaw set gets its share of the US market.

The online gambling operator announced this week the West Virginia Lottery granted him a provisional license to operate in the state. Metal saw CEOMarcus Cordes said the company is on a roll, getting licenses across the world this year:

“This latest expansion [in West Virginia] comes after our license approvals in Romania and the Isle of Man earlier in 2022, so we are ending the year as well as we started it. The granting of this license is a testament to the quality of our game portfolio and shows how robust and engaging our content is.

The company operates over 120 games with over 250 partners in nearly 20 regulated markets.

Where Hacksaw Fits into the West Virginia Online Gambling Market

Hacksaw is expected to have an immediate impact on the online gambling landscape in West Virginia. The company partners with Light & Wondera leading player in the North American game.

Hacksaw will enter the market with a full suite of over 120 games, including over 40 mobile-optimized scratch cards and 40 slot games.

However, the company will face fierce competition. Familiar names like IGT, Everiand Gan have been in the West Virginia market for at least a year.

Additionally, West Virginia’s online gambling market has exploded over the past year. Online gambling operators in the state jumped 60% year over year in October and was up 12% month-over-month.

North American momentum continues

Hacksaw hit the North American market earlier this year. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario licensed the company in April.

The company’s influence in Ontario was also significantly boosted last month. Hacksaw has announced that it has signed a partnership with Logo-Québec!the state corporation that develops the Quebec online casino.

Hacksaw Business Manager Gabrielle Star said the partnership should be “fruitful” and “sustainable”.

The company’s global growth has exploded since 2021

Hacksaw is no stranger to news of launches in new territories. Dating back to the summer of 2021, the company has won licenses or launched in several countries and regions:

  • Greece in August 2021
  • Denmark in October 2021
  • Spain in December 2021
  • Isle of Man in January 2022
  • Romania in April 2022
  • Ontario in May 2022

In addition to these launches, the company announced seven different partnerships.

While Hacksaw has expanded globally, it has a particular focus on North America. And, in particular, the United States
